Tbilisi Airport Transfer Guide (2026) - All Options & Tips
Plan your arrival in Tbilisi confidently with guidance on direct airport transfers. Our focused tips help you navigate the process and identify pitfalls.
We have not yet verified how travellers currently reach Tbilisi from the airport serving it, so we are not publishing routes, operators or fares we cannot stand behind. For what is running on the day you travel, the arrivals information published by your arrival airport is the reliable source, and your accommodation will usually know what works best for the hour you land.
Helpful Tips
Buy a Metromoney card at any metro station to tap-and-ride on the metro, buses, and yellow minibuses (marshrutkas).
Use the Bolt app for reliable ride-hailing; it's the local favorite and usually cheaper than street taxis.
The 37 bus from the airport to Freedom Square runs every 20, 30 minutes and costs a fraction of a taxi.
The metro closes at 24:00; after midnight, night buses and Bolt are your main options.
Common Scams to Avoid
Unofficial taxi touts inside the arrivals hall quote inflated flat rates to the city center, often two to three times the metered fare. Ignore anyone who approaches inside the terminal and use the official taxi desk or ride-hailing apps instead.
Some airport taxis have tampered meters that jump quickly or a hidden "night rate" button pressed without notice. Insist on the meter being reset to the daytime tariff and photograph the tariff card on the dashboard before departure.
Currency-exchange kiosks in the baggage-claim area advertise "no commission" yet offer rates far below the mid-market level. Change only a small amount for immediate needs and compare rates at the landside bank counter or downtown exchanges.
